Therapy & Assesment

All children placed with Prestige Adolescent Care and Education have the opportunity to benefit from therapeutic services. Where appropriately identified in their Care Plans, each young person has time allocated as part of the weekly planner to work with a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist who is also qualified in person centred counselling.

The therapy is adapted to the needs of the individual young person. This provides the opportunity for the young person to engage in several approaches to therapeutic intervention to determine the one that suits their specific needs. This can be by a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months, or a longer course that lasts for several months or years, depending on the young persons needs.

Evidence based therapy has shown that children can benefit vastly from this approach and can learn a wide range of new skills and experiences from therapy. Furthermore, it allows young people the opportunity to be heard and to express their feelings about past and present experiences and helps guide them toward healthy independence, enabling an autonomous future.
